Simply put, Revela is a geospatial grid developed to simplify the way to locate any feature above ground in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean.
Revela is Barbadian – created software which enables the user to create a 7-character alphanumeric location code (e.g. ABC-DE22) for anywhere in the island of Barbados, and to find the latitude and longitude corresponding to a given code.
How we did it?
The location code is based on a geospatial grid with a resolution of 0.1 seconds in both latitude and longitude (there are 60 seconds in 1 minute, and 60 minutes in latitude or longitude degrees). This resolution corresponds to a square that is roughly 3.1 metres in length in both the x (longitude) and y (latitude) directions. The Revela code also enables the user to either show the location code corresponding to a given latitude and longitude.
What does it mean for you?
It means now you can give a 7-character alphanumeric code and be located any part of the island. For delivery companies, we can supply you with an mobile app for your customers and a mobile app for your employees. The customers can generate the location code and your employees can use that code to locate the customer.
